Clinical Research and Drug Development Specialist, PATH

A medical doctor and clinical researcher, Kochhar leads efforts to develop safe, affordable, and accessible drugs and vaccines for infectious diseases prevalent in the developing world, including HIV/AIDS. In her previous position as Medical Director for the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative, she provided leadership for the first AIDS vaccine trials in India. Currently, Kochhar provides leadership for clinical trials for PATH, a non-profit organization operational in 70 countries. She has also been responsible for negotiations and partnership development with international and national government partners, public health authorities, regulatory bodies, pharmaceutical companies, local communities and the media.  She works with government partners for national policy and program development. Kochhar serves on international scientific advisory boards and is a member of international expert groups involved in global clinical research and safety.
