A cultural entrepreneur, writer, curator and documentary filmmaker, Gómez-Mont promotes creative excellence in Mexico City through art, culture, and education. Her current project, Toxico Cultura, is a cultural salon, art lab, and multidisciplinary platform dedicated to developing creative excellence, furthering dialogue and experimentation across mediums, as well as generating collective art projects. Gómez-Mont has received a number of international awards and grants in different fields, and has written for international magazines and books showcasing the unique qualities of the Mexican cultural sphere. In February, 2013 Gómez-Mont was appointed head of Mexico City's "Laboratorio Para La Ciudad," a creative think tank that aims to become "a vortex to think about the city as a concept, and a place to invite people in from all over the world, across disciplines, to try out new ideas."
