Emmanuelle Ganne is a primary negotiator for countries acceding to the WTO, including Lebanon, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iran, and Russia. She also played a key role in the accessions of Saudi Arabia and Vietnam, and was awarded Vietnam's medal of friendship in 2007 for her contribution to Vietnam's accession process. Ganne joined the WTO in 2002, where she advises acceding governments on their negotiation strategies and on WTO rules, acts as facilitator between acceding governments and WTO members, and prepares accession treaties. She also serves on the WTO Joint Advisory Committee, which advises the Director General on operational issues within the WTO, and guest lectures at Sciences Po, Lyon. Previously, Ganne worked for the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development, putting in place the Stability Pact Anti-Corruption Initiative, which assisted South Eastern European states curb corruption.
