Mehmet Daimagüler | Germany | 2007
Partner, Thomsen & Partners Mehmet Daimagüler is a partner with Thomsen & Partners, a law firm based in Berlin. He is an expert in renewable energy project finance. He previously was a senior executive at Conergy AG, one of the world’s largest renewable energy companies. Daimagüler is also one of the leading political and cultural activists on German-Turkish issues and was the first German of Turkish descent to be elected to the national board of a German political party, the Free Democratic Party. An outspoken advocate for “modern” Islam compatible with democracy in Germany, Daimagüler founded the first political advocacy group for Turkish immigrants in Germany in 1994.
