Sustainable Development Officer, United Nations
Chantal-Line Carpentier serves in the Division for Sustainable Development in the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs. Previously she was head of the Trade and Environment Program of the NAFTA Commission for Environmental Cooperation. She also served as policy analyst at the Wallace Institute for Alternative Agriculture and the International Food Policy Research Institute, and consulted for the UNDP, the World Bank, and the OECD. Carpentier recently published a book on sustainable investment and contributed a chapter to the World Economic and Social Survey on technology transfer and the challenges of climate change. She is the lead author on the upcoming UN Secretary General’s Report on Sustainable Consumption and Production. Her recent research and publications focus on biofuels, food security, sustainable agriculture, and climate change.
