Partner, MEX-IT Intercultural Management

Mohamed Baba co-founded MEX-IT Intercultural Management, a consultancy that works to overcome cultural barriers and promote successful integration of immigrant communities in Europe. His initiative to promote dialogue between Muslims and non-Muslims was recognized for contributing to the prevention of violent ethnic escalations in Amsterdam after the murder of film director Theo van Gogh. In 2005, MEX-IT began organizing Ramadan Festivals, the first of their kind in The Netherlands, designed to make the daily experiences of Dutch Muslims more accessible to non-Muslims. Recognized as a key intermediary between the diverse ethnic communities in the Netherlands, Baba appreciably contributes to the social cohesion of the country. He has become involved in several national projects, including one for the Dutch Refugee Council on media and image building in a multicultural society, while simultaneously expanding his focus to other countries in Europe.
