As director of the asset management subsidiary of Stanbic Bank Ghana, Emmanuel Asiedu is helping to create a pool of well-educated Ghanaians/Africans capable of harnessing the growth opportunities available in emerging markets. He also sits on the board of the Venture Capital Trust Fund, the government-funded body responsible for creating and sustaining a viable venture capital industry in Ghana and is affiliated with the Share Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that creates educational opportunities for deprived children in Ghana’s Tema Manhean region. Asiedu is also an adjunct professor in finance at Ashesi University, a leading liberal arts college in Ghana. Previously with Ecobank Ghana Ltd., Asiedu played a lead role in building Ecobank’s asset management base from a negligible asset value to $60 million in three years.
