Emelia Arthur | Ghana | 2002
Photo  A prominent leader in Ghana’s National Reform Party, Emelia Arthur has championed efforts to make government services available to women, children, and other marginalized populations. Arthur has also spearheaded the development of training programs focused on issues ranging from wildfire prevention to community organizing.

 

Post-Fellowship:

Arthur founded IADI, an organization established to strengthen rural communities’ autonomous and sustainable capacities for development. IADI’s work includes economic empowerment, access to basic education, civic and social rights education, and political participation. Arthur has also continued her work on policy compliance and change in natural resource management, emphasizing fair access and fair benefits in the forest sector. She is a member of a team that facilitates the design and delivery of the InterAction Leadership Program across 19 African countries.
