From www.singers.com:
"With a tracklist that contains mostly jazz, blues and standards, this wasnıt what we expected from a collegiate group, but when we began to listen, our turntables lit up! This may be the best Whiffs recording ever! Their musicianship is of professional caliber, and there is genuine warmth and emotion that is apparent in the performances these guys take this stuff seriously, itıs clear. The control and sensitivity, for example, of the sentimental "September Song," is exactly whatıs called for and the arrangement doesnıt push, but uses rests to add drama. The "New Hymn" defies categorization contemporary, complex, cross-pollinated by several styles. On occasion the group downsizes to accommodate a four-part arrangement, such as "My Cutieıs Due" (barbershop), and "Laura" (vocal jazz). Truly impressive and this is what the Whiffenpoofs do in their spare time!
