Science Core Facilities

West Campus Core Facilities provide access, training, and expertise for the Yale research community. They offer state-of-the-art equipment and technology in order to transform the way biomedical, chemical, and engineering research is conducted at Yale. These cores help support all of Yale and work synergistically with existing Core labs at Yale School of Medicine and with the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. With specialized instruments, ample gross square footage, and staff, these cores have allowed researchers more freedom to grow and expand.

  • Yale Center for Molecular Discovery

The Yale Center for Molecular Discovery provides biology and chemistry services to the Yale community. Drawing upon the extensive experiences of their staff in the fields of target and molecular discovery, the Center offers access to small molecule compound and siRNA collections as well as expertise and instrumentation for high throughput assay design and execution. Their approach is service-oriented and results-driven.

  • Yale Center for Genome Analysis

The Yale Center for Genome Analysis is a full service facility dedicated to providing RNA expression profiling, DNA genotyping, and high-throughput sequencing using state of the art technologies. The resource is open to both Yale and other non-profit organizations.

  • HPC – High Performance Computing Center

High Performance Computing (HPC) powers a range of research initiatives led by Yale professors and graduate students across the University. Scholars in fields from neurobiology and applied physics to economics and sociolinguistics depend on state-of-the-art computational systems to analyze and model massive amounts of data.

  • WCAC– West Campus Analytical Chemistry Core

The West Campus Analytical Chemistry Core is an open-access facility that houses shared research instruments in an environment that maximizes their contributions to the efforts of researchers and provides an ideal setting for education and training. It contains a wide variety of instrumentation for biological, chemical, and physical studies, and provides technical support for shared instrumentation including NMR spectrometers, mass spectrometers, flow cytometers, and various optical spectrometers.
