iNSTITUTE FOR THE PRESERVATION OF CULTURAL HERITAGE
The Yale Institute for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage(IPCH) was financially supported by Lisbet Rausing and Peter Baldwin '78 through a transformational gift given to the University in 2011. The Institute unites the vast resources of the University's museum and library collections with the scientific and technological expertise of Yale's academic departments in order to advance conservation science and its practice around the world.
The mission and the role of IPCH is the advancement of cultural heritage conservation, preservation, and digitization worldwide through the promotion of research leading to best practices. The work of the Institute will be supported by two core facilities, the Center for Conservation and Preservation and the Yale Digital Collections Center. The IPCH, in collaboration with the cores, will advance preservation capacity around the world through concerted global outreach, rigorous programs of scholarly exchange, partnership, and developing training programs worldwide.
