Scott Strobel

Vice President for West Campus Planning and Program Development

Scott Strobel joined the Yale faculty in 1995 in the Department of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry (MB&B) where he served as department chair from 2006-2009. Professor Strobel has been honored with numerous awards since arriving at Yale, including the Schering Plough Research Institute Award from the American Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 2008. Last year Scott was named a National Security Science and Engineering Faculty Fellow by the Office of Naval Research. In 2006 and again in 2010, Professor Strobel was named a Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) Professor to promote efforts in undergraduate science education. With this award he instituted a program to explore microbial and chemical diversity in the world’s rainforests as a means to inspire undergraduate students in the sciences.

He is well-respected by Yale students: in 2004, he was awarded the Dylan Hixon Prize for Teaching Excellence in the Natural Sciences, and in 2007 he received the Graduate Mentoring Award in the Sciences. In 2009, Yale College seniors elected him Honorary Member of the Alpha of Connecticut Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.

Scott received his BA summa cum laude in Biochemistry from Brigham Young University. He completed his Ph.D. as an HHMI predoctoral fellow at California Institute of Technology; Peter Dervan ’72 Ph.D., a Trustee of the Yale Corporation, served as his thesis advisor. Thomas Cech, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, was his research advisor for his Postdoctoral Studies at the University of Colorado. Scott’s current research explores the chemical basis of RNA function and catalysis and hydrocarbon production by endophytic fungi.



Rebecca Brandriff

Director of Finance & Administration

 

Rebecca joined Yale West Campus Administration in the fall of 2012. She came to YWC with more than fifteen years of University experience and more than twenty years of financial and strategic leadership expertise. Rebecca is the strategic administrative partner to the YWC leadership. She serves as our Chief Financial and Administrative Officer as she directs, plans and manages the comprehensive business affairs of the Yale West Campus.

Christopher Incarvito

Director of Research Technology at West Campus

Dr. Christopher Incarvito joined Yale University Department of Chemistry in 2002. Dr. Incarvito currently holds the role of Director of Research Technology at West Campus and is responsible for leading efforts to establish premier research facilities at West Campus through strategic capital equipment acquisitions, deployment of shared-instrument laboratories, and focused collaborations with global scientific equipment manufacturers.

Kelly Palumbo

West Campus Finance and Administration Manager

Kelly began her Yale career in 2005 as an Accountant in Financial Operations. She comes to West Campus after serving several years in Yale's Shared Services, as an Analyst and most recently, Portfolio Owner. With over seven years of accounting and operational experience, Kelly will monitor the YWC annual budget and provide leadership with comprehensive financial analysis. She will assist leadership in achieving operational priorities, ensure service providers are apprised of Unit’s needs, and ensure adherence to Yale’s policies, procedures and external regulatory requirements. Kelly earned her Bachelor's Degree from Southern Connecticut State University and comes to West Campus with strong accounting and analytical skills.

Abby Goldblatt

Human Resources Generalist

Abby Goldblatt joined Yale University on May 1, 2007 as a Senior Human Resources Generalist and will join West Campus in the same role. Abby has worked with several departments within the Finance & Business Operations division providing support for all aspects of their Human Resource strategy, operational, and development needs.
Abby received a B.S. degree in Management and Human Resource Development from the University of Connecticut and previously worked for twelve years in the Human Resources department of People’s United Bank.

Danica Kelly

Communication and Administrative Services Manager

Danica Kelly joined West Campus Administration in October 2011 as the new Communication and Administrative Services Manager, but has been at the University since 2005. She is responsible for the leadership and management of the YWC communications plan to advance, market, and promote the West Campus and its programs. She will manage all areas of the YWC public relations and will also be developing programs to support outreach initiatives to successfully facilitate community building on campus.

Kelly Locke

Executive Assistant to Vice President for West Campus

Kelly Locke is the Executive Assistant of Scott Strobel. She joined the Office of West Campus Administration in February 2009, but has been at the University since 2006. Her responsibilities include coordinating the faculty recruitment process and their transition to West Campus and working closely with the Office of Development to promote and expand West Campus. She also manages the administrative staff at West Campus and provides programmatic and high level administrative support to Scott Strobel.

Sharon Finkenauer

Events Coordinator

Sharon Finkenauer began in 2008 as the Events Coordinator at Yale West Campus, but has been at Yale since 2000. Sharon is responsible for coordinating all aspects of events, symposiums, conferences, retreats and meetings at the West Campus Conference Center.

Office Administrative Assistant

Jacqueline Glynn joined the Yale University Department of Psychology in June 2005 as an Research Aide.
In late December 2012 she joined West Campus Administration as an Office Administrative Assistant.

Keith Draghi

IT Support Technician

Keith Draghi is the West Campus, IT Support Technician. Keith came to Yale in 2002, and worked in the science hill area of main campus as part of the shared science service branch providing IT support to the sciences before coming to West Campus. Keith has been involved in various aspects of IT and has over 15 years of experience including web design, server and infrastructure design and maintenance, and programming.
