Rape and Sexual Violence Prevention (RSVP) is an undergraduate organization that strives to improve Yale’s system for dealing with sexual violence and rape.

Here are some of our goals:

  1. A central location for survivors to find all the resources they need relating to mental and physical health, and legal information.
  2. A central person whose sole job it is to support and counsel survivors throughout the entire process. This employee will follow the survivor’s case from the beginning until the end, being able to monitor the various procedures and the progress from an impartial standpoint. They will serve as the victim’s advocate.
  3. Improved reporting and recording keeping by Yale administrators about sexual assault on campus.

Additionally, RSVP organizes events and discussions about how students can best use Yale’s existing resources. We also host Take Back the Night each spring, an annual national event that recognizes and empowers survivors of sexual violence.

If you would like to be involved in RSVP, please come to our meetings on Wednesdays from 9-10 in the Women’s Center. We would love to meet you!

The co-coordinators of RSVP for the 2006-7 year are Allyson Goldberg and Alexa Verme.
