Welcome to the Yale Men's Club Water Polo website. The team is student run with assistance from alumni. Practices are at Payne Whitney Gymnasium Monday through Friday from 7.45-8.30pm in the 3rd floor pool and 8.30-10.00pm in the basement Exhibition Pool. during the fall/winter season. On Saturdays of weekends we do not have tournaments (see schedule), we will scrimmage 3.00-5.00pm in the Exhibition Pool. In the off seasons, optional team practices are held while athletes are encouraged to work out and practice on their own.
At Nationals, the team placed 3rd in 2003, 4th in 2004, 5th in 2005, and 9th in 2009.
The men's team has its main season during Fall semester and is a member of the Collegiate Water Polo Association (http://www.collegiatewaterpolo.org/).
We welcome players of all levels. Graduate students are welcome! No previous water polo experience is necessary, though strong swimming ability is recommended. In the past, squad members have played on college varsity teams, National teams, and high school teams. Some members are former swimmers who have never played the game before joining the squad.
