Bring W1YU to your QTH!

May 29, 2005

To All Friends of W1YU:

As suggested by W4YD, I have decided to adopt a policy of rotating portable operations for W1YU, along the lines of the operations of the FISTS club station.

W4YD will be the first temporary control operator for W1YU for the month of June 2005.

Each temporary control operator will need to agree to the following terms enunciated in my email to W4YD:

1. The temporary control operator will at all times scrupulously obey all FCC rules and regulations.

2. The temporary control operator will cease to use the callsign W1YU whenever asked to do so by the station trustee, N1ESZ.

3. All QSLing will be the responsibility of the temporary control operator, who will mention in any QSO that the other party should QSL via the temporary control operator's callsign. (e.g., QSL via W4YD)

4. Each new temporary control operator will inform the station trustee, N1ESZ, via email to anthony.niesz@yale.edu, that he/she is using the callsign W1YU.

5. Each temporary control operator shall have the use of the callsign W1YU for one month, unless the station trustee cancels the authority to operate as W1YU.

6. The temporary control operator for one month shall have the authority to nominate the control operator for the following month, provided that the person nominated agrees to abide by these terms.

7. Temporary control operators for the portable operation of W1YU must be either students, faculty, staff, alumni, or retirees of Yale University. People without affiliation with Yale are not eligible.

Look for W1YU on the bands!

73 de Tony Niesz, N1ESZ, station trustee for W1YU
