The Viola Question holds auditions every September.
So what's the deal?
Here are some audition FAQs:

Q: I've never done improv before. Should I audition?
A: Yes. 98% of auditioners have never done improv before. This means that you're not expected to know any-
thing except how to talk.

Q: How does the audition work?
A: The VQ members will run down some basics of improv comedy and demonstrate a few low-stress improv games. You'll give them a try, we'll laugh, and then you'll leave. The whole thing takes about 90 minutes.

Q: What if I get nervous?
A: Lindsay will hold your hand.

Q: I'd rather that she not do that.
A: Why not? She's ever so sweet.

Q: Where are the audition signup sheets?
A: No signup required. Audition locations and times will be posted in our News Blog and announced at our Free Recruitment Shows the first weekend in September (look for our posters on campus). You only need to attend one of the four audition timeslots.

Q: Should I go to your Recruitment Show?
A: Are you kidding? Bring your friends, even that roommate with the really scary dad. VQ will perform some of its signature games and feed you cookies.

Q: Sorry, I didn't mean to ask a stupid question.
A: The only stupid question is the one that you do not ask.

Q: All right. What does "The Viola Question" mean?
A: It's a Secret!

Q: Great. Can I audition for more than one group?
A: Sure. But you can only attend callbacks for two of them, because all the groups hold their callbacks around the same time. The VQ callback list will be posted in the basement of Connecticut Hall the morning after the 2nd day of auditions.

Q: How much of a time commitment is VQ?
A: We practice twice a week for two hours at a time. There are several on-campus and off-campus shows during the year, and we have two annual tours, one during the second week of winter vacation and another during the first week of spring vacation. All in all, it's a pretty low time commitment.

Q: I'm on the hockey and track teams, I teach bassoon in the morning, and I'm taking 6 credits. Will I have time for VQ?
A: Okay.

Q: Wait, really?
A: No. However, if you're organized you can certainly do
VQ and another major extracurricular (theater, acapella, Team Lux, whatever).

Q: I think I'm going to audition for VQ.
A: Awesome. It sounds like somebody's "starting off their year on the right FOOT."

Q: I think that's FOOT's catchprase.
A: Oh crap.
