My experience with Vietnamese has on the whole
been very positive - it's a wonderful language that I enjoy immensely...
I've come to accept that there will always be a gap between my
spokenVietnamese and my ability to read Vietnamese-language documents,
although this gap narrows when I'm able to spend time in Vietnam.
Charles Keith, a Ph.D.candidate in History at Yale |

"The hardest thing about learning Vietnamese was to
perfecting the
different tones. It took me a while to recognize the different tones
and I am still trying to improve at using the tone correctly."
