Yale Cable Television Service

Cable television is provided to all undergraduate and graduate students living on-campus. In multiple room suites, typically only the common room is wired. The Yale basic package of approximately 40 channels is provided at no additional charge.

Residences served include:

  • Old Campus dormitories
  • Residential colleges and official annexes
  • Swing Dorm
  • Hall of Graduate Studies
  • Helen Hadley Hall
  • 254 and 276 Prospect Street

The Yale basic package includes broadcast television stations, cable news and entertainment, seven channels programmed by Yale, and broadcast FM radio stations. In the future, Yale will be able to deliver and originate programming in selected academic buildings, such as the newly-renovated Linsly-Chittenden Hall.

As an option, Yale dormitory residents can subscribe to an "Expanded Basic" package that provides approximately 25 additional channels of sports, music, and entertainment. This package is available directly from Comcast for around $37.00 per month. For additional fees, Yale viewers can subscribe to a variety of premium services such as HBO, Showtime, The Movie Channel, and pay-per-view events. You can subscribe to these program packages at any time by calling Comcast at 1-800-266-2278.
