Bulldogs Roll Out 2009 Fall Website Update
Twitter, E-mail Newsletter, Alumni Section Are Highlights

NEW HAVEN - The Yale Men's volleyball team has rolled out the 2009 Fall Update to their website. The theme of this fall's update is faster information. The world is constantly getting their news faster through laptops, cell phones, and netbooks. Sites like Twitter have made it possible to get up to the second news from all over the world. The Yale Men's Volleyball team is trying to jump on that bandwagon.

The first feature we are rolling out is a weekly e-mail newsletter. We recognize that many of you do not have the time to constantly be checking our website for updates, so we want to send out a weekly newsletter giving you the higlights of what is going on with the team. We also realize that many of you get tons of spam in your inbox, so we are making this an opt-in only e-mail. On our website you can enter your name and e-mail into a form and we will add you to our list. If at anytime you want to opt-out, just click the unsubscribe link in the weekly e-mail.

The second feature we are rolling out is a new Twitter page. Twitter has exploded this past year and grown from a simple website for telling your friends and family "What are you doing right now?" to a powerful source of media. Twitter has become an outlet for up-to-the-minute news. It has become so important that when Iran banned reporters from their country, Twitter was the only way for the world to get news of the Iranian election. The U.S. government even asked that Twitter delay routine maintenace so the site could stay live for Iranian news reports. We on the Yale Men's Volleyball team are embracing Twitter as well and have started our own page. You can follow us on Twitter without joining the site, simply by bookmarking our page. You will be able to get up to the minute news from our tournaments and practices.

You will also notice that the way we are presenting news on our website has now changed. The reason for this is to make the Yale Men's Volleyball website easy to update in the future. Our webmaster will graduate after this year and by retooling the news portion of the website, future generations of Yale Men's Volleyball will be able to update the site more easily.

The website has also been updated with the team's current roster, schedule, pictures, and archvies.
