Cristin Tige was a Community
Forester with URI in 1997. She worked with the Arch Street neighbors
and the Watson and Bassett garden groups, which she remembers fondly,
particularly the kids who worked very hard at Arch Street. Since
her internship with URI, Cristin has worked on a sea turtle reservation
with Mexican scientists and at ARCO British, an oil company in the
UK, and has done a lot of contract work with various international
and environmental NGOs in Washington, D.C. Currently, she is self-employed
(she owns a yoga study) and is getting her PhD in International
Relations from Johns Hopkins University. Her research focuses on
malaria and its impacts on women and children in Africa. |
