Ken Pruitt was an Environmental
Education intern with URI in Baltimore in 1993. After he graduated
with a Masters of Forest Science from the Yale School for Forestry
and Environmental Studies, Ken got a job with Science Applications
International Corporation (SAIC), a consulting firm in the Washington,
D.C. area, where he worked for three years on contract with the
Department of Energy and the EPA. He then moved to Massachusetts,
where he was the Director of Conservation for the town of Boxford.
As of last July, he has been the Executive Director of the Massachusetts
Association of Conservation Commissions (MACC), a non-profit.
Ken has fond memories of his summer with URI, recalling that
after writing management plans for three urban parks with two
other interns, he learned years later that the Department of
Recreation and Parks was actually in the process of implementing
their recommendations. |
