Leigh Shemitz, Ph.D.,
is currently the Executive Director of SoundWaters, a regional
center for environmental education in Stamford, CT. Leigh has
a longstanding interest in urban ecology, New Haven and the Urban
Resources Initiative. Leigh received her masters in forest ecology
from Yale in 1992 and, more recently, her PhD in environmental
health from Yale in 2004, where she researched air pollution
variability in urban areas. Prior to her PhD work, Leigh was
the Director of the Urban Resources Initiative for seven years.
Leigh grew up in the New Haven area, and is delighted to continue
her involvement in New Haven with URI. |
