Joanne Sciulli received
her Masters in 1996 from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental
Studies. While there she focused on issues affecting the urban
environment, and environmental justice, and was inspired by the
work of URI. As she fell in love with the City of New Haven,
she discovered the great need for positive youth development,
and saw the environment as a powerful context to provide youth
with opportunities and supports that promote achievement. In
2000 she founded Solar Youth, Inc. where the world of cities,
youth and the environment join together. Joanne joined the board
of URI in 1997. She also serves a Treasurer for New Haven's Citywide
Youth Coalition and is a director of the West Rock Ridge Park
Association. |
