A. Global Health week – Monday – Thurs.

-       Schedule: Mon. – local groups related to global health, Tues. – Film screening – effect of AIDS stigma on children in China, Weds. – speaker from PIH, Guatemala – HIV testing on national/multi – national level, Thurs. – Reception on Beinecke, student presenters, administrators, push for more course offerings, keynote speaker – Yale alum, wrote book,

o      RSVP b/c limited space – 6-8 pm, email tiffany.su at yale.edu

-       Dance – 23rd – 10hr marathon, funding project from med school, building clinic in Nepal and Amman Imaan

-       Want educational component – posters, our job!

o      put up ChildrenŐs Week posters,

-       Amman Imaan contacts – Michael Kirtley, Dennis

-       Physicians for Human Rights – publicize through them.

-       Fundraising - www.yale.edu/globalhealthweek

o      YSAC – college competition, Wii game system for college that raises most money, free Kaplan courses, STA travel

o      Goal: college teams - $1/person, $5000-10,000

-       make well, visual – show how much raising

-       sculpture class, woodworking

-       Talk it up – ask friends to be part of dance, be part of team 5-10

-       idea: each team make t-shirts, competition

-       sweatbands

-       Hindi prof – bhangra/hip-hop DJ, Salsa lessons, ask gym teachers

C. Dr. Groce (adviser) - dessert, try schedule something on a Friday

D. Pia Britto –coffee? teaches seminar in childrenŐs development, takes people to Laos,

E. HeadStart – Kristjiana

-       TTh – 7:30 –9, start next Thursday

-       7 classrooms of 18 students

-       Peter and the Wolf – grad student, contact her

-       WhoŐs making presentation–Shejuti, Ashley, Ann

-       Goal: raise cultural awareness

o      Games, language, stories, zodiac story, sock puppets

F. SCCS – conference to DC, email kristjiana.gong at yale.edu if interested.

G. SCCS Campaign against privatization of water– Alice, Kristjiana and Casandra

-       take over water fountain to campaign against privatizing water in countries

-       SCCS contact: Barney Frank

-       Our plan: Stand at water fountain Sat. Feb 9 to get people to send postcard – have to commit an hour to go on SCCS trip

H. Communiversity Day – Rosh and Roshan, in April

I. Celebrity dinners – benefits at local restaurants, still need to get celebrities.

J. Yale Students for ChildrenŐs Health – Casandra

-       implement healthy foods programs, more physical activity in elementary schools, middle school

-       developing countries – send boxes of vitamins, stationary to children abroad

-       with David Katz – ABC for fitness
