Our telephone hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Below are the options after the main greeting on our department line 203-432-0038:

Routine appointments
- Appointments are available Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm.
- Additionally, during the academic year we provide extended hours on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.
- We encourage you to register for a Yale Health Online (link) account so you may request routine, non-emergent appointments online.
- Or you may call the department at 203-432-0038 to speak with a receptionist to schedule your routine appointments.
- We provide advance booking up to 6 months in advance, as well as more availability for more urgent care needs within 1-2 weeks.
- Our schedules reflect both seasonal and peak demand, and every effort is made to provide you access to an appointment that meets your clinical needs.
- We do provide and encourage routine physical exams in accordance with our Health Maintenance Guidelines.
- Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to allow for processing and timely clinician scheduling.
- If you are having lab work done prior to your appointment, you will need to arrive a minimum of 30 minutes in advance of your scheduled appointment.
Immediate access appointments
- If you should require more immediate access, call 203-432-0038 and select option 5 on our phone tree, and request to speak with our triage RN.
- We have two triage nurses that are available to speak with you and assess your care needs.
- We encourage you to call and speak with our Triage Nurses should you need same day/next day care.
- It is best to call early morning if you want to be seen within the day.
- Walk-in appointments often can only be accommodated if evaluated and determined to be clinically urgent.
- As our team nurses and clinicians have pre-booked schedules, drop in requests for routine/non-urgent care may not be available.
- We strongly encourage you to telephone 203-432-0038, select option 5 to speak directly with a Triage RN.
Appointment cancellations
- We encourage you to register for a Yale Health Online (link) account so you may cancel/reschedule appointments online.
- Or you may call 203-432-0038, select option 5, and then option 1 to cancel for all same day or next day appointments OR option 2 future appointments.
- In order that appointments do not go unused, we ask your help to please let us know if you are unable to keep your scheduled time.
Blood Pressure monitoring appointments
Often your clinician will ask you to return on a frequent basis to monitor your blood pressure. These appointments will be scheduled with the RN Coordinator on your care team. The RN will work with your Primary Care Clinician in providing optimal care for you.

After hours on weekdays and on weekends and holidays, please call Urgent Care at 203-432-0123 for emergencies. They will contact our clinician on call.
Appointments
- Appointments are available Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 4:30pm. Additionally we offer extended office hours during the academic year.
- Call the department to schedule your routine appointments at 203-432-0222.
- We encourage you to register for a Yale Health Online (link) account so you may request routine, non-emergent appointments online.
- We provide advance booking up to 6 months as well as availability within 1-2 weeks.
- Each day we have appointments set aside to accommodate urgent problems.
- If you have an urgent problem, please call our department (203-432-0222) and ask to speak with our nurse coordinator or your clinician.
- Our schedules reflect both seasonal and peak demand needs, and every effort is made to provide you with access that is both convenient and within a reasonable time frame.
- We encourage you to see your primary clinician, however it may be necessary to schedule with a team clinician in order to best meet your needs.
- Routine appointments are 20 minutes long.
- Procedure appointments are usually 40 minutes long.
- If you need time to discuss a particular issue in conjunction with your annual exam, please request a 40 minute appointment.
- Because emergencies may cause schedule changes, you may want to call on the day of your appointment to see if your clinician is running on time.
Ultrasound appointments
- Appointments for ultrasounds, hysterosalpingograms (HSGs) and sonohysterograms (SHGs) should be booked through our department.
- These tests are usually performed in our YHP Radiology Department.
- Instruction sheets will be provided to you and our staff will explain the procedure when you book the appointment.
- If you need to cancel within 48 hours of your appointment, you need to call the Radiology department directly at 203-432-0240.
- For other cancellations, please call us at 432-0222 and we will reschedule you for the test.
Pediatrics
Contacting us
For advice: If you have questions or need advice concerning child care, illness, or other issues, please call 203-432-0206 and press 4 for the nurse. Many routine needs can be handled over the phone and we are happy to help.
For sick visits:
- If your child needs to be seen due to an illness or injury, call 203-432-0206 to schedule a “sick visit.”
- Your child will be seen within 24 hours and usually on the day that you call.
- If you are not sure whether your child needs to be seen, please call for advice. A pediatric nurse will call you back promptly.
Office hours:
- Phone consultations are available beginning at 7:30 am on weekdays.
- Nursing staff is available to provide assessments and can offer same-day or next-day visits when needed.
Appointments:
- Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
- During the academic year, extended hours are available on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings until 6:45 pm.
- We encourage you to register for a Yale Health Online (link) account so you may request routine, non-emergent appointments online.
Weekends:
- Pediatricians see our patients in Urgent Care on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 3pm.
- During other hours and on holidays, one of our pediatricians is always on call 24/7/365 for the care of our pediatric patients and families.
- Call the Urgent Care Department (203-432-0123) to contact with our clinical staff.
For well child care:
- We recommend regular checkups at the following ages:
- 1 week / 2 weeks
- 2 months / 4 months
- 6 months / 9 months
- 12 months / 15 months
- 18 months / 2 years
- Yearly through adolescence
- More frequent visits may be recommended by your clinician.
Specialty Departments
Contacting us
Telephone hours for specialty clinics are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.
- To schedule an appointment, call the department and speak with a receptionist.
- A referral is required for most specialty clinic visits, and a non-emergent appointment will not be booked with a referral.
- Contact your primary care clinician to schedule an appointment and/or obtain a referral to a specialty department.
