INTERNAL ACADEMIC RECORDS

The academic record is an internal advising document available only to currently enrolled Yale College students. The academic record does not take the place of an official transcript. Students may obtain copies of their internal academic record only from their Residential College Deans. There is no charge for the
production of the academic record.

DOSSIER REQUESTS

The Graduate School Office of Career Services (203-432-8850) is responsible for the dossier. Please contact that office directly to place an order. The Registrar's Office provides Career Services with an official dossier transcript.

Yale College students should consult the Information Broadside or their Residential College Dean for information pertaining to the preparation and distribution of placement files.

Dossier charges
Each dossier is $5.00 for regular service and $15.00 for express 24-hour service. Payment is made directly to the Graduate School Office of Career
Services. There is no separate charge for the dossier transcript.

ENROLLMENT AND DEGREE VERIFICATIONS

*NOTE: Professional school students (Law, Management, Divinity, FES, EPH, Music, Architecture, Art, Medicine, Nursing) must obtain enrollment and degree verifications from their own school registrars.

Call or write to the Registrar's Office at least five business days before you need the verification sent. Yale considers the contents of enrollment and degree verifications to be items of directory information, which can therefore be produced without the student's written authorization. Students on non-disclosure must submit a signed request.

PETITION FOR DEGREES

Undergraduates do not have to petition for a bachelor's degree. The Registrar's Office and the Residential College Deans monitor academic progress, fulfillment
of degree requirements, and eligibility to graduate.

Students in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences must submit a Degree Petition form to the Registrar's Office by October 1 for degrees to be awarded in December and by March 15 for degrees to be awarded in May. You may submit petitions for degrees while you are still completing required coursework only during the spring semester. Petitions for December degrees can be submitted only when all degree requirements have been satisfied.

or download petition form.

UPDATE YCPS MAILING ADDRESS

The Yale College Programs of Study (YCPS) is mailed in July via periodical (second class) mail to Yale College students in the U.S. and Canada unless they change their mailing instructions using the Student Information System (SIS).

Yale College students can
(1) have the YCPS sent to an address other than the student's permanent mailing address via periodicals mail;
(2) request priority mail delivery for an additional charge or
(3) have the book held for pickup at the FAS Registrar's Office, 246 Church Street, 3rd floor, after August 1.
Students with international permanent addresses will have their books held at the FAS Registrar's Office unless they use SIS to (1) provide a U.S. or Canadian address for delivery via periodicals mail or (2) request first-class or air mail delivery to their international address for an additional charge.

These options may only be selected during late spring; please see the SIS website for details.

CLASSROOM SCHEDULING FOR EVENTS
How do I reserve classroom space?

During the academic year, the FAS Registrar’s Office schedules classrooms that fall under the jurisdiction of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences; during the summer, Conference Services is responsible for scheduling classrooms. Priority is given to the instructional needs of Yale College and the Graduate School. Requests that do not fall into this category may take longer to fill during the first several weeks of each semester.

A request must be submitted at least five business days in advance of the event, otherwise it may not be possible to accommodate the request. We strongly recommend submitting requests for weekend events at least one semester in advance of the event.

All requesters must be current Yale affiliates or must be sponsored by a Yale department. Groups not affiliated with Yale and wishing to reserve rooms for conferences should contact Conference Services. Classrooms may only be used by non-profit organizations for educational purposes.

Undergraduate organizations must be registered with the Yale College Dean's Office each year. For more information on registered student groups please refer to the section Undergraduate Organizations of the Student Affairs homepage.

Graduate student groups and organizations should first contact the McDougal Center in the Hall of Graduate Studies about meeting spaces.

To request a room for an event, you will need to go to the Building Users Guide for Yale University Classrooms.

To review the media services available in a particular classroom, go to the Media Services web site.
