1.  Intercollegiate Debate Tournament – Attention All Trumbullians!

The Yale Debate Association is hosting the Adams Cup, an intercollegiate debate tournament between the twelve residential colleges on Sunday, April 5th, 2009. The Adams Cup will take place on Sunday, April 5th 2009. The rounds will take place within one building, most likely Lindsey-Chittenden Hall on Old Campus.

It’s going to be a great tournament, a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon and show off our college’s superior debating skills! If you want to compete, please email Trumbull’s rep, Kristin Briggs, and she’ll be in touch.

The competition is a partnered debate, so you will need to either find someone to compete with, or Kristin can help you. Don’t worry about not having a competitive debate background. This is meant to be a casual, low stress forum for coming together and enjoying debate. Kristin will help you learn the format of the debate and run through all your questions before the competition.

It’s a one-day tournament, held Sunday, April 5th. Prizes will be given to all of those who advance to out rounds and the winner of the tournament will get the Adams Cup to keep in their Master’s Office for a full year! Currently, JE has it, and we can’t let that happen.
