While an undergraduate at Yale, Chesa won the Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholarship, the Goldman Sachs Global Leaders fellowship, the Marshall Scholarship, and the Rhodes Scholarship.

2. Opera Trip: "Eugene Onegin", by Tchaikovsky
DEADLINE to apply: 4:00 p.m. SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 14.
The next opera in this year's Trumbull series subscription to the Metropolitan Opera will be next WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 18. We will leave Trumbull PROMPTLY at 4:00 p.m. The cost is $15.00, including dinner.
The opera is "Eugene Onegin", by Tchaikovsky. A Short History of Opera* calls it Tchaikovsky's "masterpiece". With a libretto by Pushkin, it is "an old-fashioned Romantic opera … [with]… graceful melodies, expressive harmonies, transparent and imaginative orchestration… The ballet music is tuneful and charming…". The superb Finnish soprano Karita Mattila is singing Tatiana, and Thomas Hampson is Onegin. We saw this production two years ago (with a different cast), and it was wonderful.
If you would like to attend, please submit your name to Prof. Henrich by e-mail BEFORE 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 14. Names will be selected by RANDOM DRAWING and the students notified Saturday evening or Sunday.

4. Call for a Design Editor and Submissions for TC Lit Mag
Trumbull’s very own literary magazine, By the Horns, is back under a new name and new management! We are in need of a design editor who likes to play with color, fonts, and creative white space. We are also in need of submissions! Lots and lots of literary submissions! Send whatever essays, poems, short stories, vignettes, sketches you wish—all are welcome. There is no limit on the number of submissions though the word limit for any one submission should not exceed 10,000 words. While we are not operating on a set theme, works of historical fiction, life at Yale, or the color green may be viewed with particular favor, but the topic is free. If interested in design editing or to send submissions, please direct an email to bythehorns.submissions@gmail.
