Maria Cohn is a Political Science major from Boston, Massachusetts (yes, the actual city…no one ever believes her). She is a huge Patriots and Red Sox fan but she won’t judge you too harshly if you’re from New York (it’s not your fault, after all). She has three younger siblings: a brother who’s a sophomore at Georgetown, a sister who’s starting high school, and another brother who’s starting middle school. At Yale, her biggest extracurricular is Trumbull College. This will be her third year on the Trumbull College Council, so she can tell you all about the awesome social events, like the Rumble, the Screw, the TrumBall, and Pamplona, that they plan. As Intramurals Secretary, she spends her afternoons being a soccer mom, driving people out to the intramural fields in her minivan and playing just about every sport there is. At night, you can find her either eating or working in the Trumbull Buttery (student café). She is also co-captain of the Club Field Hockey team (anyone want to play goalie for us?). Things she likes: dance parties, meeting people (particularly awesome Trumbull freshmen), playing and watching sports, food (why do you think she play sports?), and Trumbull. Things she doesn’t like: squirrels (they terrify her), bandwagon sports fans, and groups of people who walk slowly and take up the whole sidewalk. |

In 1987 David Corbin was born in the great state of southern New Jersey. After leading his pee-wee football team, the Marlton Titans, to an unprecedented three straight 5A State Championships, David, a 4’5” 70lb quarterback with a laser rocket arm, was the third highest ranked 8 year old prospect on Mel Kiper Jr.’s 2009 Futures Big Board. His career was halted after an incident which has been rumored to have included Pop Rocks and Coca-Cola. While convalescing, David discovered the wonders of Nick-at-Nite, specifically Gilligan’s Island. Wowed by the Professor’s vast intellect and resourcefulness, David forsook football for academics. Ten years later he was admitted into Yale where everyday he is thankful that he was placed into Trumbull College, the absolute best, most splendiferous residential college. An Anthropology major, his interests include the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles, Japanese and tasty sandwiches. |

Shana Kieran is a New England native, born and raised on the beautiful coast of Maine. Here at Yale, she is a Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations major, studying Arabic, Persian, and related history and literature. She is extremely excited to be one of Trumbull's freshman counselors for the coming year!
Over the last three years, Shana has become actively involved in the Trumbull community, has bonded with New Haven as a city by volunteering in its public schools and its refugee center, and has had a wonderful experience singing with Asempa, an African cultural singing group on campus. She's also had many exciting opportunities to travel during her time at Yale, and will be spending this summer in North Africa. Shana is looking forward to getting to know the members of the class of 2012 as they experience their first year at Yale and in Trumbull! |

Anne Lee is majoring in biomedical engineering but really wants to become a doctor and save the world. This summer she will be in Ghana interning for an NGO called Network for the Improvement of World Health this summer. During the school year, she is involved in the New Blue (the first all-women a cappella singing group on campus), Yale Students for Christ, Yale Undergraduates at Connecticut Hospice, American Red Cross at Yale, and the New Haven Book Bank. If you need advice on a cappella, tutoring/community service, or being a chill pre-med, talk to her. Although not particularly athletic, in the winter she takes most of her showers at the gym after intramural inner-tube water polo, and for around 6 months of the year she has Teva sandal tans. She loves reading, taking pictures, singing, and learning about people's lives, and she's excited to meet you on campus in the fall! |

Nadav Night was born in Dallas, Texas and shortly thereafter headed west to California, yet he still reserves a special place in his heart for the Longhorns and Astros. He grew up in Culver City, which is basically surrounded by Los Angeles. This area is particularly known as a hub of the television and movie industries—Sony Studios was a little less than 3 minutes from his house. At the age of 14, he and his family held a tribal council (influenced by the heavily popular Survivor show) to decide if they should move from Culver City to Fullerton, which is in North Orange Country. Although there were some conflicting opinions, the tribe had spoken: yes. He would attend Fullerton Union High School and graduate as a Full International Baccalaureate Recipient. At Yale, Nadav is pursuing a double major in Economics and Latin American Studies. He speaks Spanish fluently and is learning Portuguese. Outside of classes, Nadav is a writer for the Yale Entrepreneurial Magazine, a member of the Club Baseball team, and a participant in the Tutoring in Elementary Schools (TIES) that helps youngsters in the New Haven school district to improve their reading and math abilities. In his free time he enjoys jamming on his acoustic guitar to mainly classic rock tunes and occasionally blues. He also thoroughly enjoys Italian food and playing golf. After Yale, he hopes to pursue a career in finance. |

Susan (Susie) Tovar is the Ethnic Counselor for Trumbull College and Latino EC for Morse and Davenport. She was born and raised in the Chicago area, so it only makes sense that her favorite season is winter. She is majoring in psychology and plans to work in the area of education. At Yale, she has been active in Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan (MEChA) and MAS (Math and Science) Familias. Outside of Yale, she volunteers at La Casa Otoñal (Community Center) and works at the Calvin Hill Daycare Center. Outside of Yale and New Haven, she served as the Executive Chair for the East Coast Chicana/o Student Forum, which hosts three conferences a year and unites about 15 member-schools. Outside of Yale, New Haven, and the East Coast, Susie traveled to Brazil to learn Portuguese the summer after her sophomore year and will be in Houston this summer. She is excited to be back in Old Campus and enjoying her last year with the Class of 2012! If you have any questions, concerns, jokes, stories to share, etc., stop by her room in Bingham C54. |
