ACADEMICS

 

Deadline: Monday, March 30: Last day to convert from Credit/D/Fail option in a spring-term course to a letter grade.  The form is available in your TC Dean’s Office.

 

Reminder:  No credits earned in courses completed on the Credit/D/Fail basis may be used to fulfill any of the distributional requirements for the bachelor’s degree.

Undergraduate Art Department Sophomore Reviews: Tuesday & Wednesday, April 7 & 8; 1:30–6:30 pm on Tuesday and 9:00-3:30 pm on Wednesday, Room GO-1, Green Hall

Intended art majors please sign up at the of the DUS, School of Art, Green Hall, room 122 as soon as possible.  It is important on the day of your review, or when you sign up, to bring a copy of your updated academic record (available at your Dean’s Office).  At the time of your review, you must present a cross section of work completed during your undergraduate courses here at Yale.  Please come fifteen minutes early for your appointment.  If you have any questions, call Nancy Keramas at 432-2608

 

SENIORS

 

Research Assistant Position in neuroscience with Dr. Laura Manuelidis, Yale Medical School.  She is looking for a thoughtful graduating student to work in a medical school laboratory on models of dementia, especially those related to human Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease and BSE (aka "mad cow disease"). Opportunities cover a broad range of approaches including animal and tissue culture models, molecular studies, and immuno- and electron microscopy. Some basic science knowledge needed as well as some lab experience. Students who have taken molecular and cell biology and/or related neuroscience labs would be the best fit. Life After Yale Series, sponsored by Undergraduate Career Services begins Tuesday.   Getting from College to Career, Tuesday March 24 - 7 PM - Becton Center, Davies Auditorium

 

Lindsay Pollack ’96, author of Getting from College to Career: 90 Things to Do Before You Join the Real World will discuss making the transition from Yale to the workplace.  This event kicks off Life After Yale: The Series, a set of panels and events intended specifically for seniors. Future topics will include the Big Issues such as finding a job, personal budgeting, and wraps up on Wednesday, April 15, with a panel of young alumni talking about their experiences in The Real World. Also, for the past several years, Career Services and the Association of Yale Alumni have presented seniors with a brief volume, Life After Yale, at Class Day.
