Brazil Visa Processing Update

From: CIBT The Global Visa and Passport Professionals

I am writing to update on you the evolving situation regarding the issuance of Brazil visa and legalization of documents. As reported to you on Wednesday, the consulates advised that due to severe technical difficulties affecting the supplies necessary for Brazilian Consular Services throughout the world, Consulate processing times for all visa issuance and legalization would be impacted. Consulate practices vary by city and we've seen these difference manifest themselves is how they are addressing this issue. Some consulates are managing the shortage of supplies by not accepting any new visa applications at this time, others are dramatically reducing the number of new requests accepted and the amount of time they take to complete the work.

CIBT has been in daily communication with each Consulate, and as of close of business Friday, the status is as follows:

NY

Accepting, 20 business processing days

DC

Accepting, 15 business processing days

Miami

Accepting, 40 business processing days

Atlanta

Houston

LA

San Francisco

Chicago

Boston
