David Berg
Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, Yale School of Medicine
David Berg received his BA and MA from Yale University and his PhD in organizational psychology from the University of Michigan. From 1977-1992 Dr. Berg was a professor at the Yale School of Organization and Management (SOM) where he taught courses in organizational behavior, group dynamics, research methods and organizational diagnosis. He was the 1990 recipient of the SOM Alumni Award for excellence in teaching. He is now a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the Yale University School of Medicine helping physicians develop their understanding of groups and organizations.
In his work, Dr. Berg strives to maintain connections between the world of ideas and the world of practice. He is the Deputy Editor of the Journal of Applied Behavioral Science. Dr. Berg is the author of numerous articles and books including Paradoxes of Group Life (with Kenwyn Smith), Failures in Organization Development and Change (edited with Philip Mirvis), The Self in Social Inquiry (edited with Kenwyn Smith), and Rediscovering Groups (with Marshall Edelson).
