Yale’s Forestry School, now the School of Forestry & Environmental Studies, is established, the oldest in the country, and the only such school at an Ivy League institution. Gifford Pinchot (B.A. 1889), often referred to as the “Father of the U.S. Forest Service,” and his parents donated the funds to start the school. Today, projects involving students, faculty, and alumni of the School aim to address critical environmental topics around the globe. Fieldwork in Milford, Pennsylvania.
