Computing Timothy Dwight provides its residents with a variety of computer related facilities and resources. Each student room in TD is wired for internet access through the university's Ethernet network. Many of the common areas in TD are also equipped with Ethernet jacks. Wireless network access is available in the Dining Hall, TD Common Rooms, Library, and Courtyard. TD has two computing clusters, located in the college itself and in the Rosenfeld Hall annex. Both clusters are equipped with combination printer/copier machines which work through the RIS uniprint system. The clusters have both Macintosh and Windows computers which are equipped with office and productivity software. Select computers in each cluster have desktop publishing and image-editing software. The TD Cluster also has a scanner and a computer with video-editing capabilities. TD residents can print to the cluster printers directly from their rooms. Instructions on how to set up your computer to print can be found at AM&T's student printing site. The TD printer is td_laser1 on Uniprint4. The RH printer is td_laser2 on Uniprint4. Student computing in TD is supported by the Computing Assistants. Students living in TD or its annex can request help from a Computing Assistant at the Computing Assistant website. Yale University provides students with a number of useful software packages, including anti-virus software. These packages are available for free download at the student computing software site. Information about computing at Yale can be found at the student computing site.
