The Saybrook Orchestra is proud to continue its collaborative relationship with the quintet Brass for the 2006-7 concert season. In addition, we are pleased to continue our amicable relationship with the Orchestra New England.

Brass

Founded on a dedication to both the gravity and levity of music, Brass is in its 8th season of providing Yale and the New Haven community with a range of music from fun to formal, from Baroque to comic. Their goal is to bring energy and passion to every performance, whether of standards in the brass repertoire, new and experimental pieces, or pops and jazz.

Low Strung

Low Strung, a cello rock group originally formed by the celli of the Saybrook Orchestra, present a classical take on classic rock and pop. Using the incredible versatility of the cello to fullest effect, they bring a unique and exciting sound to rock ballads and heavy metal favorites. Their debut performance in Spring of 2005 to a full house established them as one of the most exciting young chamber ensembles on campus, and their success has continued to this day.

SYO Chamber Players

SYO returns to its roots with the formation of the SYO Chamber Players, an ensemble made up of core players from SYO who wish to explore the chamber music repertory in a more intimate musical setting than that afforded by the full orchestra.
