Welcome!
Synergy is an outreach program that brings Yale student researchers into New Haven high school classrooms to
present their own research experiences and findings. The aim of the program is to make science "real" to students.
By showing students how undergraduates, only a few years older than themselves, are using scientific research
in powerful ways to solve practical problems, we hope high school students will be inspired to get involved.
Synergy presentations will aim to be both engaging and relevant. The
material will be age-appropriate and it will support the science curricula of high schools.
Following the presentations, Yale volunteers and students will have a chance to discuss the projects.
We hope that Synergy will provide high school students with not only a unique and exciting
learning opportuntiy, but with a sense of collaborative learning. Scientific advancement afer all hinges on
collaboration and cooperation. As we continue to venture into the 21st century, we are faced with a broad spectrum of challenges
with the potential to impact, not just individuals or our community, but the entire world.
In our interconnected global community, collaborations have increasingly allowed for constructive progress.
We hope that Synergy will spark new ideas, insights, and knowledge in the next generation of researchers right here in New Haven.
