Swimming
Accomplishments: Known to his beloved teammates as Dewey, Lange
(the younger) swam the first half of the last-season like an incapacitated
water buffalo. It's funny 'cuz it's true. Taper proved to be the
perfect remedy though, swimming life best times in events to be
named later. In high school 'lil Lange won some stuff, and hasn't
won so much stuff in college, but looks forward to a very productive
season.
Personal:
Born 6/11/82 to Bob and Lauren, Dewey stumbled through the first
years of his academic career, being held back at the tender age
of three in jr-kindergarten because he couldn't manage to stack
the blocks correctly and had, "a problem with sharing." Things looked
bleak for Lange's intellectual pursuits. It wasn't until his junior
year of high school that Dewey really began to take an interest
in his academic work, when the renowned Brother Beckstrom, Lange's
AP US History teacher, showed Dewey "the way." Mastering the art
of reverse psychology, with time Lange began to hear the odd pairing
of the phrases "Get out of here!" and, "Where do you think you're
going? Get back in here!" on an almost daily basis. Other pairings
included the well known, "Lange, this isn't nap time."-"Just put
your head down and go back to sleep." duo and "What are your thoughts,
David?" typically followed by, "Do you ever think before you speak?"
Lange now hopes to broaden his understanding of the human mind while
fine-tuning his knowledge of psychology as a History of Science
and Medicine major. It's funny 'cuz it's true.
