Stoeckel Hall – Comprehensive Renovation – LEED Gold
Originally built in 1897, Stoeckel Hall is a unique architectural fixture on campus. Undergoing a renovation in 2009 this historic building received a LEED Gold rating. The renovation included water conservation measures that allowed for 36% less water consumption, high efficiency lighting, ventilation controls and hot water pump loops which save 18% of annual energy cost savings compared to baseline buildings. Restoring the façade required extensive masonry, but 90% of the original walls and floors were reused, reducing demand for new materials, and 85% of the waste produced during construction was recycled.
