Yale's annual Spring Salvage Program recently wrapped up its fifth successful year of diverting students’ unwanted items from the waste stream and into the hands of local non-profit and charitable organizations. In an effort to improve upon previous years’ efforts, this year Spring Salvage expanded into the Hall of Graduate Studies to include a portion of the graduate community. While the official tally and weights of collected items continues to be calculated, we do know that approximately 700 individuals from more than forty non-profits including: Teach for America; Shoes4Africa; Salvation Army; and Easter Seals Goodwill attended four different donation days held in the month of May. This year’s collection totals and highlights will be posted in the coming weeks.
