This Friday afternoon, from 1-4pm STEP (Student Taskforce for Environmental Partnerships) and YSEC (Yale Student Environmental Coalition) are teaming up to bring sustainability to the student body on Old Campus. With a wide range of activities, students will find the chance to engage in everything from environmental politics—writing postcards to politicians; to art—creating banners and painting oil drums; from personal sustainable measures—taking the sustainability pledge; to new clothes—“shopping” for a new outfit through the Eli Exchange. Organizers hope that the event will showcase how easy it can be to make sustainability a fun part of the student lifestyle while connecting personal action to Yale’s long term goal to reduce GHG emissions. Of course, music and food will be plentiful, with student acts playing throughout the afternoon and apples, cider and cookies for all. |
