Application Procedures
The link to the application form for Yale Summer Session 2008 is available at the bottom of this page. Please read the important information below before applying.
Students must complete the general application and if staying on campus for the New Haven portion of the program (if program has a New Haven component) student must also complete application for housing and meals on line. This process requires students to pay the application fee with a credit card. Any other required documentation must be submitted separately. Applications will not be considered complete and will not be processed until all supporting materials are received. Printed versions of the application forms will not be accepted.
Students are notified when their applications are complete. Applications for most programs are reviewed on a rolling basis, and students are notified in writing as soon as a decision has been made, usually within two to three weeks after the application is complete or by the published notification date. Please check program website to verify application deadlines and to verfiy whether program accepts on a rolling basis. Decisions will not be given over the telephone.
Please read the following checklists closely for the requirements for your application type. You may have more than one set of requirements.
ALL APPLICANTS MUST SUBMIT
- the online Application for Admission to Yale Summer Session
- a nonrefundable application fee of $55, paid on line with a credit card. Wire transfers, cash, checks, or money orders are not accepted as payment for application fees. The application fee is waived for YSS alumni and summer counselors.
YALE GRADUATE STUDENTS MUST ALSO SUBMIT
- if applying for a Summer Language Institute Fellowship, the application form for the fellowship, available at 55 Whitney Avenue, 4th floor, or on line through the Yale Graduate School Web site
NON-YALE COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY STUDENTS MUST ALSO SUBMIT
- a current official transcript. Students who have been out of college for more than ten years may submit a resume or curriculum vitae in lieu of a transcript.
Acceptance to Yale Summer Session does not imply admission to any other school or program of Yale University. Enrollment in Yale Summer Session does not satisfy a term of residency in Yale College regardless of the number of credits earned.
