Discover the connections between arts and public health through study
in Durban, South Africa and Mbabane, Swaziland. The six-week course,
Arts and Public Health in Action: Study of HIV/AIDS in Swaziland and
South Africa, will offer students the opportunity to work with some
of the world's best artists in community-engaged practice. We are
proud to announce that Clowns Without Borders and the acclaimed dance
company Siwela Sonke are our artistic partners in Africa this year!
The course will be taught by Assistant Professor Rebecca Rugg, from
Yale School of Drama, together with Gamal Palmer, M.F.A. from Yale
School of Drama, and Meredith Coleman-Tobias, M. Div from the Yale
Divinity School. Students will have the opportunity to explore
Durban and Swaziland on their own and through organized program
activities.
