Who may apply for this program?Any student in good academic standing who has the necessary prerequisites may apply.
How will students be selected?Students are selected by the Director of Yale Summer Session in consultation with the course instructor. Applications are evaluated on a rolling basis.
What will the course cover?The course syllabus will be available online in 2009. For questions related to course content, extracurricular excursions or on-site program content in general, please consult the instructor.
How will I get from the airport to the host city?The student must find his/her own way to the host site from the airport. Detailed instructions about how to get to the residence hall from the airport will be provided.
At which airport should I arrive?Student should plan to fly in to Rome (FCO). General instructions about how to get to the city from the airport will be provided before students leave and students must find his/her own way to the host site from the airport.
When should I arrive in Siena?The student should arrive no later than the Saturday before the first day of class in Siena. Local room and board begins on that Saturday. Check with the instructor to find out if the student should arrive any sooner than this.
Are there additional costs?In addition to tuition and the room and board package, students are responsible for round-trip airfare, some meals, books and course materials, and individual spending money. All program excursions are included in your tuition/room and board cost.
Is financial aid available?The International Summer Award is available to eligible Yale College students. Academic year financial aid awards do not apply. Non Yale students must consult Financial Aid at the home institution for opportunities.
