Financial Aid

The International Summer Award (ISA) is available to eligible Yale College students. Study abroad applicants who want to apply for an ISA should visit the web site before applying to Summer Session in order to determine eligibility for the award. See the Financial Information section on the Summer Session website for more details. Non-Yale students should consult their respective financial aid offices for funding opportunities.


Program Fee

The $700 program fee will charged to the student SIS account upon acceptance. The $700 Program Fee includes HTH Study Abroad Health Insurance and course activities/excursions associated with the Siena program. HTH provides local 24-hour medical assistance, including the evaluation and monitoring of medical treatment and comprehensive management of evacuations and repatriations.


Tuition

The tuition for this program in 2009 is $5,300 for 3 Yale credits. Students are responsible for all travel expenses to and from Siena, costs of room and board, and all other expenses beyond tuition.


Housing in Siena

Students will be living with host families in Siena. Two meals per day are provided with housing.


Room and Board in New Haven

Students enrolled in ITAL 130/140 will live in New Haven for the first 3 weeks of class. Students may choose to live on Yale campus or may live off campus. Estimated cost shows a range from off campus - on campus housing. Off-campus housing is often a less expensive option.


Round-Trip Airfare and transportation to Siena

Estimated cost of airfare from JFK, New York to Rome (FCO). General instructions about how to get to the city from the airport will be provided before students leave and students must find his/her own way to the host site from the airport.


Daily Transportation at host site

Estimated cost daily transportation while in Siena.


Meals

Estimated costs for meals not covered in the program room and board package.


Books and other course materials
