Small Church Commnities (SCCs) are an opportunity for members
of the chapel community, undergraduates, graduate/professional
students, faculty, and other community members alike, to gather
in an intimate setting during the week for faith sharing and
personal support.
These groups complement the Sunday liturgy, when the chapel
community as a whole is gathered together, by offering an
experience of "Church at the Grass Roots" with an
emphasis on scripture study and discussion, faith formation,
and service.
These groups help members mature from adolescent faith to
adult faith during their college years, and afterward provide
an opportunity to grow and deepen that faith over the course
of a lifetime. Members learn how to read Scripture as a Catholic
Christian and apply it to their lives. Facilitators chosen
from within the group share responsibility for coordinating
the meetings.
If you would like more information about SCCs, please feel
free to call the chapel office at (203) 777-5537, or talk
to one of the many community members who have participated
in one.
