The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is the process
through which adults are baptized into Christianity, or convert
to Catholicism from another Christian denomination.

As practiced at Saint Thomas More, it is a year-long process
of discovery and exploration beginning in the Fall Semester
as catechumens (those who have not been baptized) and candidates
(those who have been baptized into another Christian denomination
and seek admittance to the Catholic church) meet as a group
and begin to study scripture and church teaching. It culminates
in the exhilirating Easter Vigil Liturgy, during which new members
are incorporated into the church through the sacraments of Baptism,
Confirmation, and the Eucharist.
