Saint Thomas More hosts a variety of programs intended to advance
Catholic intellectual life, both annual lectures and special
events.
The More House
Lecture
The oldest annual program at Saint Thomas More Chapel, this
lectureship brings a distinguished theologian to campus to
present a new work to the Catholic Community.
The Rev. Michael
Gosselin Lecture in Poetry and Faith
Named in memory of a beloved former Catholic Chaplain at Yale,
this annual lecture explores the intersection of poetry and
faith that was a particular interest of Fr. Gosselin, and
is presented each year concurrently with a poetry contest.
Chaplain's Teas
Similar to the popular Yale "Master's Teas," Chaplain's Teas bring noted speakers to the chapel for a brief talk and discussion in a homey setting.
- Eamon Duffy, professor of History of Christianity at Cambridge University on his research into the life and spirituality of St. Thomas More. September 16, 2009 at 12:15 pm.
- Robert Sackel of the international L'Arche movement, which brings together individuals with and without disabilities to form communities of faith, friendship and mutual care. September 24, 2009 at 4pm.
- Margaret Ajemian Anhert, author of The Knock at the Door: A Journey Through the Darkness of the Armenian Genocide. October 15, 2009 at 4:30pm.
Special Events
Throughout the year, Saint Thomas More offers special lectures on various topics from sexuality and Catholic ethics to environmental concerns. They will be posted on the upcoming events page.
