Areas of interest: Contemporary Hispanic poetry, Critical theory, 19th and 20th century Spanish literature and culture.

In his book, Cansinos Assens y su contexto crítico, he has studied the role of criticism as an art form in the configuration of Spanish Modernismo. He is the author of several articles, in topics ranging from 19th-century Spanish novel (in Revista Hispánica Moderna), to Spanish fascist poetry. He is currently preparing a book entitled, La diferencia americana de Juan Ramón Jiménez: Espacio y la reinvención del poema en prosa. Other work in progress includes studies on the interrelation between poetry, cultural production and politics in the Spanish and Latin American democratic process.
