Oklahoma State University. The Department of Sociology at Oklahoma State University invites applications for one Assistant Professor tenure-track Position to begin fall 2006. A Ph.D. in Sociology is required. The department seeks an active scholar who will increase the strength of the department in quantitative research methods and statistics. York University. The Department of Sociology, Faculty of Arts, York University invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the assistant professor level in the social studies of science and technology, to commence on July 1, 2006. We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in sociology who has expertise in mainstream approaches to sci/tech studies as well as in approaches that are alternative and critical of mainstream studies (for example, feminist or postcolonial perspectives). The position is subject to budgetary approval. Kansas State University. The Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor or tenured Associate Professor position beginning August 2006. We seek a sociologist whose research and teaching interests focus in the area of rural development. Preference will be given to candidates with complementary expertise in gender and/or international development and social change. Old Dominion University. The Department of Sociology at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position as assistant professor, beginning in August 2006. We seek candidates with a research specialization in gender. The department currently has specializations in: race, ethnicity and gender; work, labor markets and organizations; international, comparative and Asian societies; and health and medicine.

Applicants must have completed their Ph.D. by the time of appointment and have strong commitments to research, teaching, and supervising student theses and dissertations. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
