U.S. citizens and permanent residents applying for Yale Scholarship should submit signed copies of 2007 federal tax returns (including all W2 forms and schedules) to the College Board’s Imaging and Documentation Service (IDOC) and not to Yale Student Financial Services. In early February, you will receive a cover letter and cover sheet from the College Board that provides instructions for submitting federal tax returns. You should submit the tax returns to the College Board along with the completed cover sheet. More information on IDOC and a link to print duplicate cover sheets can be found here.

Canadian residents and international students along with U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents applying for a Federal Stafford Loan only should submit tax returns directly to Yale Student Financial Services.

Notification of Interest (if required)	If you are applying for aid for the first time, please email Student Financial Services of your interest. Allow three business days before completing the rest of the requirements listed below.
2008–2009 Yale Application for Undergraduate Financial Aid	Download form here. Fill in online, print, sign, and submit to Student Financial Services.
2008–2009 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)*	Apply online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
2008–2009 CSS Profile	Apply online at www.collegeboard.com.
Signed copies of student’s and parents’ 2007 federal tax returns (including all W2 forms and schedules)	Mail to IDOC: You will send the tax return information, along with the required cover sheet, directly to the College Board’s Imaging and Documentation Service (IDOC). CSS Business/Farm Supplement (if required)	Submit the Business/Farm Supplement to Student Financial Services. Access forms here.
CSS Noncustodial Profile (if required)	Applicants will receive a College Board email with instructions. Submit 2007 tax returns directly to Student Financial Services.
Bio Questionnaire: Application Supplement	This form allows the university to match students with donors and designees of endowed funds. Please submit online.

*Residents of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, or Vermont must apply for a State Grant by completing the FAFSA and submitting any other information that their stage agencies require by the states’ deadline dates. Students who are eligible to receive state funding but do not receive it due to incomplete or late application materials will not receive Yale funds to cover the amount of state funding they would have received.

You can check what financial aid forms are required of you for the 2008-2009 academic year by logging in with your Yale NetID and password at www.yale.edu/sis.

Extenuating Circumstances

To make Student Financial Services aware of special circumstances that are not reflected on the financial aid applications, you should submit a description on a separate sheet (along with any applicable documentation) to Student Financial Services.

When submitting financial aid information directly to Student Financial Services, be sure that your name and student ID number are listed on the top of each document. Please do not mail us copies of any materials that you transmit by fax machine.
